GZ Issues Food Circulation Permits Starting Today Starting today (Sep 21st), new regulations have been issued today to enhance food safety by better monitoring companies transporting food. Business shall now have to go through one more procedure to get a "food circulation permit" issued by the Administration of Industry and Commerce. This move shall affect individual food retailers as well as food wholesalers who now need this permit to get their business licences renewed.

GD Supplies Water to HK and Macao against Drought The Guangdong Flood-Control & Drought-Relief Headquarters announced that from now on, Guangdong will sell Hong Kong with 2 million tons of water a day and Macau with 230,000 tons, so as to ensure the two SARs aren't affected by the ongoing drought that's been affecting Guangdong. For the past 8 months, Guangdong had sold Hong Kong and Macau over 50 million cubic meters of water.
GZ to Embrace Car-Free Day Tomorrow Tomorrow (Sept 22nd) will be Guangzhou's Car Free Day. From 7a.m. to 7 p.m., parts of the city will be closed to traffic to encourage pedestrians and cyclists as well as push people to use public transport. Guangzhou's Car-Free Day was initiated last year in an effort to raise environmental awareness.
Baiyun District Holds First Folk Painting Exhibition Famous Guangzhou folk painter, Xu Yaokuang, today (Sep 21st) held an exhibition of his paintings to celebrate the upcoming 60th National Day of the P.R.C in Guangzhou's Baiyun District. The theme of the exhibition was "Love for my Hometown, Beautiful Hometown" and displayed 60 paintings to welcome the 60th national day. Coincidentally, Xu Yaokuang himself is also 60 years old this year.
