Hu Jintao urges CPPCC to further play its political advisory role
Yesterday (Sept 20th) was held the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's political advisory body. Chinese President Hu Jintao delivering a key note speech, urging the CPPCC to "continue carrying out its functions of political consultation, democratic supervision, and to continue presenting government proposals in a practical and effective way." He also said the CPPCC should make new contributions to boosting the Reform and Opening-up and the Socialist Modernization Drive whilst defending the great cause of a peaceful reunification of the Nation, and safeguarding world peace and promoting common development.

GZ's One Land Lot in Higher Education Mega Center Sold at a Record High Price
The Guangzhou real estate trading center yesterday organized the bid of four more piece land. More from our reporter Zhang Bin:
A piece of land located in Zhujiang Xincheng was the focus of yesterday's bidding. It was finally sold out at nearly 13,600 yuan per square meter. According to the deputy head of the Guangzhou Land Resources and Housing Management Bureau, Huang Wenbo, the price reached is acceptable. As for the two lots of residential land in the higher education mega center, one part was sold at over 7600 yuan per square meter, the highest ever. So we asked Hung Wenbo whether he thought that price was reasonable:
 "It is hard to comment on a bidding price. I am not sure about its future commercial residential development."

Liu Xiang Comes back to Race
Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang returned made his comeback in style over the weekend by finishing second at the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix yesterday (Sept 20th). Liu's much-anticipated return after 13 months off the tracks due to an injury was cheered by an excited crowd in Shanghai. He fought hard crossing the finishing line very close to Terrence Trammell, the silver medalist in the Berlin world championships. Liu shocked China last year when he withdrew from the Olympic Games due to his injury. He said he was taking this race in his hometown as a training session.
