GZ Metro Line 5 to be Put into Operation End of this Year Guangzhou Metro Group revealed yesterday (Sep 17th) that construction work of Metro Line 5 is near completion. Currently all mechanical and electronic equipment is in place and tests are now being performed on the eastern length section. Line 5 is said to be put into operation by the end of this year.

GZ Railway adds More Trains for National Day Travel Rush The 8-day National Day holiday is just around the corner with a peak in the number of travelers expected to occur from the 28th of this month until October 8th. Guangdong's Railway network will see over 6.55 million passengers during the holidays, that's a 3% increase from the same period last year. The Guangzhou Railway Group has therefore issued a plan to tackle the sudden influx, and starting on the 28th, more trains will be put into operation.
New Regulations on Waste Water Disposal Fees The Guangdong Price Control Bureau yesterday (Sep 17th) issued a new notice requiring all relevant enterprises to abide by the new regulation concerning waste water disposal fees. The new regulation now charges enterprises higher fees than from government-sponsored institutions and less from enterprises in townships than those in cities.
