97% of 150 Million Migrant Workers have Found Jobs According to the latest data issued by the National Statistics Bureau, as of the end of June, over 97% of China's 150 million migrant workers had found jobs, and only 4.2 million of them are still unemployed. Data also shows that amongst the 4.2 million unemployed, nearly half of them have yet no work experience.
Heyuan, Zhanjiang & Maoming Wins Governmental Development Fund After a meeting yesterday (Sep 15th) to decide which cities in Guangdong would receive part of the 1.5 billion Yuan fund to implement the "dual transfer" policy, the results have now been published. 3 cities out of 7 in competition won 500 million Yuan each. These cities are Heyuan, Maoming and Zhanjiang. Heyuan won with the highest score and this is already the 2nd time it's won the fund. Zhanjiang ranked No.2 and its mayor, Ruan Risheng, obviously expressed his satisfaction by the way the assessment was carried out:
"I think the decisions were made taking into account the capabilities of each city, the conditions of their industrial parks and the prospective of future development. "

First World Hakka Business Conference to be Held in Meizhou This morning (Sep 16th), the Guangdong Information Office revealed that from Oct 12th to 14th, the first Hakka business conference will be held in Meizhou. Hakka people are a large Chinese minority living in northeastern guangdong and southern Fujian.
