Foreign consuls support Danxia bidding for World Heritage Recognition
Danxia Mountain in Shaoguan's, along with other well-known surrounding landscapes, will undergo an inspection and evaluation this month by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to decide whether or not the site should be recognized as a World Heritage. Yesterday (Sept 15th) the consular delegation touring Northern Guangdong paid a visit to Danxia Mountain and signed their names on a board to show their support for the bidding. The delegation members hope the application will convince Shaoguan to work harder on the preservation of national resources.

Comics Festival to organize an IPR trade fair
The 2nd International Comics Festival will open from September 29 to October the 5th in Guangzhou's Jinhan Exhibition Center. Famous comics designers, companies and publishers will be invited to attend the festival. What's more, to protect intellectural property rights and create a platform for trade, the festival will, for the first time, organize an IPR trade fair.

The First Tourism Group to United Arab Emirates leaves GD
The first group of tourists from Guangdong yesterday (September 15) set off to the United Arab Emirates, one of the 9 new international destinations announced by the National Tourism Administration. 29 people joined the luxury tour, paying 9999 RMB for a 5 day trip. They will visit famous tourist attractions and sleep in the world's only 7-star hotel - the Tower of the Arabs.
