China's August CPI falls1.2%, PPI drops 7.9% The National Bureau of Statistics announced this morning the economic indexes for August. China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, dipped 1.2% in August from a year earlier whilst the country's producer price index (PPI), a measure of inflation at the wholesale level, fell 7.9% year-on-year. Both the CPI and PPI showed a smaller year-on-year decrease compared with July data.
KFC Thieves Captured Yesterday (Sep 10th), the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau announced that the 4 men who committed armed robbery in a KFC on Ji Chang Lu on Wednesday morning (Sep 9th) had been arrested. The police said that the guns used to threaten KFC staff were-in fact-toy guns. The men confessed that since April, they had previous robbed another 2 KFCs.
Tropical Storm "Mujigae" Lands at Hainan A new tropical storm named "Mujigae" hit Hainan's Wenchang city at around 2:20 this morning. Affected by the storm, western Guangdong shall see heavy rainstorms today and tomorrow whilst in the rest of the province occasional rain shall occur. Today, Guangzhou shall remain overcast with occasional rain and temperatures ranging between 26 and 32 degrees.
