GD Honor Outstanding Teachers
Today (September 10) is China's 25th Teachers' Day. A ceremony was held today to honor 961 excellent teachers and 110 education workers from Guangdong. Our journalist Chengang has the details:
The Secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee, Wang Yang and Guangdong governor Huang Huahua attended the ceremony and extended festival greetings to all teachers. Huang called on authorities at all levels to give more support to education and safeguard teachers' interests:
"We should serve teachers sincerely and help solve their problems, If so, they will have a stronger feeling of happiness, achievement, honor and more talents will join the teaching career. "

Torch Relay of 11th National Games Starts its Tour in Guangdong
Another ceremony was held this morning (September 10) at the Baiyun International Convention Center to kick off the torch relay of the 11th National Games' in Guangdong. Governor Huang Huahua lit the flame and passed it to the torch bearers including Olympic Champion Hu Jia, who brought the fire back from Beijing. The 11th National Games will be held in Shandong Province from Oct.11th to Oct.26th, a total of 16 days. 

Housing prices in China rise 2% in August
According to figures from the National Bureau of Statistics today (September 10), house prices in 70 of China's large and medium-sized cities rose 2% in August compared to the same month last year. Second-hand house prices in Shenzhen rose nearly 15%, faster than in any other cities.

The 13th Tropical Storm Mujigae heading to Hainan
A new tropical storm named Mujigae is likely to hit China between the city of Zhanjiang in western Guangdong and Wanning in Hainan. This should occur between midnight and noon tomorrow. The Storm formed this morning (September 10) over Wenchang in Hainan and weather forecasts show that most cities in western Guangdong will see heavy rain from tonight onwards.
