6 Billion Yuan into 7 Dike Engineering Projects in GD
The Guangdong Water Resources Department recently revealed that over 6 billion Yuan will be invested to 7 dike engineering projects in Guangdong, in the cities of YangJiang, Shanttou, Shanwei, Lianjiang, HuaiJi, and LuoDing. The department assured the public these facilities will be of very high standard and shall be able to withstand floods.
China's Longest Railway Line Soon to Start Operation The new Wuhan-Guangzhou railway line is now undergoing a series of tests before new sections are to be put into operation. Trains will now enter Guangdong through the DaYaoShan tunnel in Hu'nan Province, and after the tests are completed, the sub-line in ShaoGuan will start to operate. It has taken 11 years and 5000 railway workers to dig the tunnel and build the new line.

Customs: Prices surge on Imported Milk Powder Data provided by Guangdong customs indicated that ever since July, the price of imported milk powder has been drasticallyincreasing. In July, imported dairy products entering the China at Shenzhen port were at an average price of 3032.8 USD, that's a 70% increase compared to last year. Experts said the surge in prices is due to the addition of new nutritional elements into milk powder but they advise consumers to buy domestic brands, saying they are as good as foreign ones.
