Wen calls on teachers to do a good job

Ahead of the 25th Teacher's Day which falls on September 10th, Premier Wen Jiabao has called on teachers across the country to do a better job. Wen made the call Friday (September 4) during an inspection tour of Beijing's No.35 Middle School. He personally attended five lessons including geography and music. Wen urged teachers to be creative in improving their teaching skills, teaching content and evaluation methods. Finally, he called on the teachers to teach with love, to be dedicated to learning and to become role-models for students.

Firework Show to Celebrate National Day
A spectacular firework show will be held in Guangzhou of the evening of October 1st to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The show will be put on from 8:30 PM to 9 PM at Pazhou and Baiertan. It will be the largest firework displays in Guangzhou's history.

Drought in Nothern Guangdong Worsens
The tropical storm Dujuan is moving away from Guangdong which shall push the mercury up for a few days. Temperatures will remain over 35 degrees in most parts of Guangdong and the drought in northern Guangdong is likely to worsen.
