China's Insurance Capital Investment Tops 120b Yuan in July According to the country's insurance regulator, China's insurance capital investments hit 2.45 trillion yuan in the first seven months of this year. In July alone, investments from insurance funds stood at 120 billion yuan. Out of the total investment, approximately 10% went to the stock market at the end of the second quarter.
Sinopec's Net Profit Up 332.8% in H1 Sinopec said yesterday its net profits in the first half rose 332.8% year on year because of price adjustments for refined oil sold to the domestic market, in other words, our cars. Sinopec's net profits totaled 33.25 billion yuan (4.87 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half with earnings per share up from 0.294 yuan to 0.383 yuan. The company declared this in a statement to the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock markets.
China Likely to Be World's Largest Beer Producer For Eighth Straight Year The China Alcoholic Beverages Industry Association said Sunday the country is likely to become the world's largest beer producer for the eighth straight year. This year, production in the first half alone totaled 20.5 million tonnes, up 6 percent year-on-year.
