Pakistan-Guangdong Trade and Investment Opportunity Forum Held Today
The Pakistan-Guangdong trade and investment opportunity forum opened in Guangzhou today (Aug 24th). Yesterday (Aug 23rd), the secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee, Wang Yang, and Guangdong Governor, Huang Huahua, met with the visiting delegation led by Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari. Wang briefed the delegation on the province's economic and social developments, as well as the strategy and measures taken to tackle the global financial crisis. Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan attaches great importance to the cooperation with Guangdong, and welcomes Guangdong to visit to Pakistan in search for potential investment.

16 Schools in Wenchuan County Aided by GD to Welcome Students Soon
With the help of Guangdong, 16 schools in Wenchuan County will be opened this Thursday (Aug 27th). Primary and middle school students will be able to resume their studies in these new establishments. A media delegation of over 20 journalists from Guangdong is covering the event.

Bai Xue Wins China's First Worlds Gold From Women's Marathon
Bai Xue became the first Chinese woman to win a marathon in the World Athletic Championships yesterday(Aug 23rd). The 20-year-old Bai pulled away from Japan's Yoshimi Ozaki in the last kilometer to finish the 42km race in 2 hours 25 minutes and 15 seconds. Bai was born in Heilongjiang province in the northeast of China. She put an end a 10-years gold medal drought for the Chinese women's team in world athletic championships. Liu Hongyu won the last gold medal in the women's 10km walk in Seville 1999.
