First Day of GZ Book Exhibition Welcomes 50,000 Visitors
The Guangzhou Book Exhibition commenced yesterday (Aug 20th) at the Jinhan Exhibition Center. The secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee, Wang Yang started his visit in the digital reading display zone where he asked how business is going. A Guangdong publishing group answered that they had generated 10 billion yuan in sales last year, and are expecting to hit 15 billion yuan this year. According to the organizer, the event has attracted 50,000 book lovers so far. There are 160,000 books on display at the exhibition and for those wishing to purchase a book, the can enjoy discounts of up to 70%.

GD Might be Difficult to Strive Balance in Import and Export
The head of the Guangdong Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation bureau, Liang Yaowen, admitted that although Guangdong's export volume is seeing smaller decrease rates every month and might even see an increase in the 4th quarter of this year, it may still be difficult to achieve a yearly increase in the volume of exports. Statistics show that since May, the decrease rate is getting smaller and that July even saw an 11% increase from that of June.
