GZ's Land Bidding Less Competitive, More Cautious Guangzhou held another land auction yesterday (Aug 18th) but real estate developers seemed rather cautious. There were 10 land lots on sale, the largest volume of land made available so far this year. More from our reporter, Yang Zhen: With Guangzhou authorities imposing penalties on real estate companies delaying land development and a larger supply of land, this recent auction was much less competitive. One piece of land located in Nan Huaxi, supposed to be the main focus of the auction, was sold after only seven rounds of bidding within 2 minutes, at 4651 yuan per square meter. Han Shitong, a real estate expert: "This year, Guangzhou will supply 2.5 square kilometers of land, not including the land supplied for economic housing. Real estate developers now show no aggressive attitude in the auctions."
