GD's Economy Shows Positive Signs in July Various economic indexes reflecting Guangdong's economy over the past seven months have been steadily growing month by month, such as investment and consumption. What's more, in July, production in Guangdong's industrial enterprises seems to have picked up with the record high levels in terms of electricity generation and usage since the beginning of the year.
GD's Judges Swear to Protect the Justice This morning(Aug 18th) the Guangdong Higher People's Court held for the first time ever an oath-taking ceremony amongst all of the province's new judges. 96 newly-appointed or newly-promoted judges took part in the ceremony, swearing to protect social justice and defend the sanctity of the law.
SME Fair Offers Free Training Courses The 6th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair will be held in Guangzhou next month. According to the organizers, this year's fair will for the first time offer training courses for the companies which aim to help them cope with financial crisis and upgrade their industrial structure. Over 20 famous domestic and overseas training organizations will be invited to provide free training to the participants.
Korean Consulate General The Second into Guangzhou Chigang Guangdong authorities today(Aug 18th) signed an agreement with the Korean Consulate General in Guangzhou regarding the use of land in the city's foreign consulate zone, making Korea the second country to reallocate their offices into the zone. Korea will rent 4000 square meters of land for 70 years. The construction on the new Korean consulate will be completed before the 2010 Asian Games. Currently 18 land lots are available in Chigang for foreign consulates, 10 of which have already been reserved.
