GD and MIT to Form Alliance
Yesterday (Aug 17th) the secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee, Wang Yang, met with a delegation from the US Chinese Association For Science and Business. The delegation has brought Guangdong 4 new high-tech projects which involve marine micro-algae energy and wind energy. The delegation has also proposed to help set-up an agreement between Guangdong and MIT - the famous American Massachusetts Institute of Technical - so that MIT could provide Guangdong with the most advance technology to promote its development.

Industrial Park on Donghai Island Completes Basic Installaion
Yesterday afternoon (Aug 17th) a meeting held between Guangzhou and Zhanjiang authorities revealed that Donghai Island in Zhanjiang that has been designated to be the city¡¯s new industrial park is well underway. Water pipes and electric cables are now all in place and even a few Guangzhou enterprises are starting to move into the industrial park.

Domestic Tour Package Prices Down up to 25%
The peak travel season is gradually coming to an end and our reporters have talked to several major travel agencies in Guangzhou. They have learned that prices of domestic tour packages scheduled after August 25th have gone down by 20 to 25%. The drop in prices is expected to push many people to sign up for a late holiday.
