Manufacturers Hire Workers as the Market Warms up With rising domestic sales and the overseas' market slowly warming-up, business is picking-up again in the PRD. Some companies have started to hire more workers, and some factories even can't find enough people. Our journalist Yangzhen has the story: The Foshan-based "Eaglerise Electronic Company" is a transformer manufacturer. The company laid-off quite a number of workers in February when the situation was really bad. But now the situation has improved and it has started to recruit workers once again. Pan Qingsong, the vice manager said: " in August, the demand for workers is high. In July, we hired 160 to 200 workers. It shows that the situation is returning to normal." This is not a unique case in the PRD. According to a survey conducted by the Guangdong Statistics Bureau on 598 companies, demand for employees is on the rise. Vice-director of the Foshan job center, Liang Zhenxin told us: " in general, Foshan lacks sales employees and people specialized in the service industry. Some companies are not able to find suitable employees. " Even though the situation is improving, experts predicted that the demand for employees will continue to rise steadily in the second half of this year, but it's not likely to rise substantially.
