China to Issue the Plan to Use New Energy This Year The first "Energy Forum Asia" the first session ever held, commenced in Guangzhou yesterday (Aug 9th), with as main theme "Energy revolution, growth, green and cooperation". During the forum, the Minister of National Energy, Sun Qin, said the nation's new energy development plan is being drafted and should be unveiled within this year.

Centralized Air Cooling to be Applied in Zhujiang Xincheng A centralized air cooling system will be put into used in October in Guangzhou's Zhujiang Xincheng. Guangzhou's new opera house will be the first building to enjoy this new system. The idea is to lower by 2 to 3 degrees the overall temperature in Zhujiang New City, by cutting down on heat emissions from individual air conditioning system.

Southern Airline's Demands on Flight Attendants on the Rise Southern Airlines held a large recruitment campaign for flight attendants yesterday in Guangzhou's Grandview Plaza. Our reporter Zhang Bin, found the Plaza crowed with applicants, although there are only 80 position offered. One of the attendants said, "I've fancied becoming a flight attendant since I was a kid. When I grew up I learned more about the job, I wanted to have a try so I came." According to China Southern Airlines, since 2006 the company has been expanding business and therefore demand for flight attendants is on the rise. Li Tongjiang, a top manager from the company's Human Resources said the company will continue to recruit more flight attendants: "We want to contribute in helping fresh graduates find jobs by offering them new opportunities." Guangzhou is the fourth stop of its national recruitment tour.
