Imported Milk Powder Expands its market in Guangdong According to the provincial customs, in the first half of this year, Guangdong imported 33,000 tons of milk powder, 3 times more compared to the same period last year. Imports mainly come from New Zealand and Australia. Foreign milk powder manufacturers expanded their share of China's market after last year's melamine scandal. A huge drop in the tariff for imported milk powder has also led to a drop in prices.

Goni Looses Strength As Goni moves slowly west, the 7th typhoon this year is gradually loosing its strength and its impact on Guangdong is less devastating.
