GZ Clinches Deals Worth 30 Billion Yuan with SOEs and Large Enterprises 28 new projects will be set-up in Guangzhou to accelerate the pace of the city's industrial development. Yesterday (Aug 3rd), the Guangzhou government and local enterprises signed strategic cooperation agreements worth 30 billion yuan with central government-level State Owed Enterprises as well as with large-scale enterprises. The projects cover a number of different areas, including advanced manufacturing and modern services. The largest project is Dongfeng Nissan's expansion, worth of 5 billion yuan.
Hang Seng Bank to Open More Branches in Chinese Mainland The interim results released by Hang Seng Bank yesterday (August 3rd) shows that its business in Chinese mainland accounts for over 11% of its net income in the first half, a notable increase from 9.4% last year. Ms Margaret Ko, Vice Chairman and Vice CEO of Hang Seng Bank, said yesterday that the bank will soon open new branches in Chinese Mainland, especially in the PRD.
