Wang started by briefing the press on how Guangdong tackled the financial crisis and how he believes these measures will help Guangdong move towards a more sustainable economic model. A reporter from Reuters asked about the province's economic estimates for the second half of this year: Regarding the estimates for the second half of this year, Wang said that as Guangdong is export-orientated, economic prospects rely heavily on how the international economy reacts. Meanwhile, Guangdong still continues to explore the domestic market. "What we can do now is to help develop business on the domestic market. We have achieved progress in this regard, with domestic sales increasing by 18% and exports rising by 20%."

GD Residents Generating More Income Than Last Year According to the Guangdong Bureau of Statistic, Guangdong's urban and township employees saw their monthly average wages rise by 10% in the second quarter of this year to hit 2806 yuan per person. Wages in the financial sector led the rise with their monthly average wage reaching 6827 yuan.
