Dongfeng Nissan to Invest Big in Huadu Dongfeng Nissan announced yesterday (Jul 29th) it will invest 5 billion Yuan into building a new factory in Huadu district. Construction work should be completed by 2012, after which the base will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 vehicles, becoming south China's biggest vehicle manufacturing base. Currently, Dongfeng Nissan has a production capacity in Huadu is 360,000 vehicles annually.

Urban Employees Enjoy 12.9% Wage Increases in H1 The National Bureau of Statistics announced yesterday (July 30th) that China¡¯s urban employees have seen their salaries increase by 12.9% year-on-year to reach an average of 14,638 yuan in the first half of 2009. The growth rate was 5.1% lower than that of the 1st half of 2008. The average salary includes the basic wage, bonuses and any other allowance and is often used as a reference by the government for setting salary standards and calculating social insurance premiums.
Yahoo, Microsoft Search Deal Yahoo and Microsoft on Wednesday reached a 10-year Internet-search deal which the two companies said will offer more choice for consumers and advertisers. In a joint statement, both sides said that "In simple terms, Microsoft will now power Yahoo search while Yahoo will become the exclusive worldwide relationship sales force for both companies' premium search advertisers." According to the deal, Microsoft's newly-launched Bing search engine will become the exclusive algorithmic search engine aimed at directly competing with Google.
