Dongjiang and Hanjiang River May Face Drought Later This Year According to the latest statistics provided by the Guangdong Drought and Relief Headquarters, 13 cities and 33 counties have recently suffered from floods, leading to an economic loss of over 1.5 billion yuan. However, the authorities also pointed out that compared to last year, precipitations have decreased by 15%. That might sound good at first, but estimations show that the Dongjiang River and the Hanjiang river are very likely face an extensive drought later this year with water levels dropping by 40 to 60%.
An Ink Painting Exhibition On the Tour in GZ's Communities To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, an ink painting exhibition commenced yesterday (July 26th) in Guangzhou. Over 30 painting are on displayed, amongst which, the large scale ink painting called "Lingnan Chunhui". Created by 14 artists, it measures 11.7 meters high and 4.7 meters wide and has attracted a lot of attention. The painting is in the traditional Lingnan style and includes Baiyun Mountain and Mumoun flowers. More from our reporter Luo Su: The exhibition will be displayed in most of the city's communities. Many citizens have already stopped to view the exhibition held in Mingyue Shanxi community, the first stop of the tour. Ms Chen said: It's good to have such an exhibition in our community, so close to home, as it allows more citizens to discover art and learn to appreciate it. Xu Xinsong, the President of Guangdong Artist Association considers it is a great move to promote the development of art in Guangdong, as more citizens can have access to quality works of art.

The two-day high-level meeting will address the challenges and opportunities that both countries are facing on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues. These issues concern both immediate and long-term strategic and economic interests but the talks will also set the stage for discussions about ongoing and future bilateral cooperation mechanisms.
