Foreign Journalists Eyes on GD's Economic Performance A delegation of reporters from 18 famous overseas media organizations embarked today (July 27th) on a 5-day visit of Guangdong. The participants come from 8 western and Asian countries and work for leading media groups such as Associated Press, Reuters, and AFP. The team will be interviewing top officials from Shenzhen, Huizhou, Dongguan and Guangzhou, and finally meet with the province's party chief Mr. Wang Yang on Thursday (July 30th). Organized by the Guangdong Information Office, this visit hopes to give the international community an insight into Guangdong's economic and social development amidst the global financial crisis but also explain the PRD Reform and Development Plan.

Chui Sai On Wins Macao Chief Executive Election Chui Sai On won a third-term in office as chief executive (CE) after yesterday's (July 26th) elections in Macau. It has to be noted that the news of the former Chief executive's reelection came as no surprise as indeed, he entered the elections with no opponent. The election was held at the Macao East Asian Games Dome, and brought together the 300-member CE Election Committee who gave Chui 282 votes.

GZ Metro Line Four Experiences Signal Failure Line four of Guangzhou's metro network experienced several signal failures yesterday that lead the metro operator to suspend traffic on the line at various moments of the day. Going from Huang Ge to Wan Shengwei, a trip which usually takes around 40 minutes, ended-up lasting over two hours. Operations returned to normal at 10pm.
