China's PMI of Manufacturing Sector Rises to 53.2% in June The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in China's manufacturing sector stagnated at 53.2% in June, according to the Chinese Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP). Figures have barely changed from last month, up merely 0.1% from May, after it fell 0.4% in April. The output index was 57.1%, up 0.2% from a month ago whilst the new orders index has gradually fell to 55.5% in June, from 56.2% in May and 56.6% in April.

HK, GD Unite in Infrastructure Projects Hong Kong and the city of Huizhou in Guangdong province have announced they will build stronger ties by setting up new financial services and by the construction of new infrastructure. Hong Kong and Huizhou are to sign 12 major infrastructure projects located in Huizhou with a total investment of 3 billion USD. The two cities will work on several key projects, including a container terminal at Huizhou port and the first line of the city's new subway.
Huangpu Port Practices Flexible Customs Clearance Services New guide-lines have been introduced by Huangpu Port since June 26th designed to guarantee effective customs clearance procedures. From now-on, all export goods are to be categorized, a move which should bring customs clearance down to three minutes for class A and class AA enterprises, that's approximately 60% of goods transiting through Huangpu. Export-Import Bank of China Sets up GD Branch The Export-Import Bank of China opened its Guangdong branch recently. Located in Guangzhou, the branch has jurisdiction over Guangxi and Guangdong, exception made of Shenzhen. Its purpose is to boost the establishment of the China-ASEAN free trade region, and increase trade between Chinese Mainland and the surrounding regions: Hong Kong and Macao.
