Australia's New South Wales State Opens First Overseas Office in Guangzhou The state of New South Wales, in Australia where Sydney is located, opened its first overseas office in Guangzhou today (June 29), an important step to mark the 30th anniversary of their sister relationship with Guangdong. Our journalist Zheng Yun has the details: Vice Guangdong Governor, Songhai, received Mr. Macdonald, the Minister for Primary Industries and Minister for Energy of New South Wales, yesterday (June 29) in Guangzhou. New South Wales is the first foreign state to have established a sister relationship with Guangdong. After 30 years, bilateral ties on both sides have grown dramatically. Mr. Macdonald especially mentioned the development of trade: "He added that the opening of the Guangzhou office will facilitate economic and trade relationships with Guangdong." Guangdong government will organize a celebration in November to mark the 30th anniversary of Guangdong's friendly relationship with their overseas counterparts.
Guangzhou Theatre Center re-Opens Last night (Jun 29th) the Guangzhou Theatre Center re-opened after a series of renovation. Every weekend around 3 to 5 shows will be put on in the new theatre and up-coming shows include historical dramas such as "the Nanyue King".
