Over 500 New Public Sporting Spots be Set up in GZ Today (Jun 30th) marks the 500-day countdown to the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and the good news is that Guangzhou is now setting up more sporting facilities. More from our reporter Zhao Zhaoyi: Guangzhou is now setting up more and more public sporting facilities, especially in the communities, in an effort to promote sports to all the citizens. An official from the Guangzhou Administration of Sports said: "We are investing more than 20 million Yuan into the installation of over 500 new community sporting facilities such as basketball courts, outdoor ping-pong spaces and so on."



Traffic Resumes on Beijing-Guangzhou Railway Line After 2 trains collided early yesterday morning (Jun 29th) in Chenzhou station in Hunan province, authorities have announced that traffic in both directions has now returned to normal. The crash took place on the Beijing-Guangzhou line and resulted in 3 deaths and 63 injuries. The Guangzhou Railway Group said they sent a rescue team shortly after the accident consisting of over 1000 people. The cause of the accident is still unknown and an investigation is underway. Railway departments are reminding travelers to pay attention to timetable changes along the line.

More Parks in GZ Open for Free to Citizens Starting tomorrow (Jul 1st), 13 parks in Guangzhou including Yuexiu Park, Liuhua Park, the Cultural Park and 2 gardens inside Luhu Park will be open to citizens for free! Citizens who had originally bought a monthly or a yearly ticket can return it and shall get a refund. What's more, another 17 forest parks including the Dafushan forest park in Panyu will also be open for free starting tomorrow.
