Tropical Storm Nangka to hit Guangdong This Evening
Just days after tropical storm Linfa swept across Guangdong, tonight around mid-night, Nangka, a new storm heading in from the philippines will hit the eastern coast of Guangdong and southern Fujian. This morning, the province's flood control and drought relief headquarters launched a level-3 emergency response. Under the influence of Nangka, strong winds will pick up in Eastern Guangdong, gradually gaining momentum to reach gale force 7 to 9. This evening, the coastal cities of Shantou, Chaozhou, Jieyang and Shanwei are to experience heavy rainstorms.

Day Against Drug Abuse Marked
An anti-drug event called "Guangdong's young anti-drug volunteers are taking action" was launched this morning (June 26) to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. During the inauguration, Sydney Olympic champion, Chen Xiaoming, and 4 other youngsters were named "image ambassadors" and shall promote information against drug abuse.

College Entrance Exam Result to be Announced
The 644,000 students from Guangdong who sat the National College Entrance Examination a couple of weeks ago will get their results tomorrow night at 6 PM (June 27). The results will be available on Internet, but can also be delivered by SMS or by calling an automatic phone service. The results of the exam are crucial to students, as they alone determine which college the fresh graduates can attend.

Chinese citizens traveling to Thailand will continue to profit from the free visa policy, therefore saving 230 Yuan per person. Thailand extended the free visa policy until March 2010, a step to encourage more tourists to visit there country. This move should reduce by about 20% the price of standard tour packages.
