Storm Sweeps Eastern GD Killing 3
The tropical storm Linfa swept across Guangdong over the past two days causing destruction and the most severe torrential rainfall to Eastern Guangdong in over a century. In the counties of Pingyuan and Dapu in Meizhou city, 3 people were fatally injured, a 3 year-old girl has been declared missing and nearly 70,000 lives are still affected by the floods. Over 340 houses collapsed, large quantities of crops have been destroyed, and roads have been seriously damaged. Overall, the direct economic loss is estimated at 333 million yuan.

Official: Kids advised to avoid crowds during summer holidays
7 more primary school students from Dongguan have been confirmed as infected with the A/H1N1 virus, bringing the total number of cases in the school to 37 and obliging the establishment to close for a period of seven days starting yesterday. Law Being Make to Protect GZ Asian Games' Logo
A law to protect the 2010 Asian Games intellectual property right and especially its logos is currently undergoing a public inquiry and should be promulgated before the end of the year.
