
China's 1st A/H1N1 Vaccines Start Production
China's first batch of vaccines for the A/H 1 N 1 virus was officially put into production today (Jun 22nd) and should reach the market by September. The monthly production volume of the vaccine is estimated at 15 million doses.
Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan Issue Local Government Bonds
Bidding for Guangdong, Fujian and Hainan's local government bonds took place today (Jun 22nd) with interest raising to 1.75%, up 0.03% from that of the last bidding. Today, the three provinces issued a total of 12.2 billion Yuan in government bonds. The next session of bidding will be held on Friday.
GD to Hold Photo Competition to Commemorate PRC's 60th Birthday
Today (Jun 22nd) Guangdong started to collect photographies for a competition to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of China. C0-hosted by media organisations including Yangcheng Evening News and the Guangdong Photographers Association, this competition will select 23 winners whose works shall showcase the changes and development China been through in the past 60 years. The deadline to submit your photos is September 30th.
Typhoon Drawing Away from GD
Summer began yesterday (Jun 21st) and this morning already (Jun22nd) Guangzhou recorded 36.7 degrees, the highest temperatures recorded in almost 60 years ago. But luckily, the typhoon called "Lotus" which has been affecting Guangdong for the past 2 days is now going away. Over the next 2 days, temperatures throughout Guangdong are likely to drop to around 32 degrees with occasional rain.
