GD's 1st Exhibition Promoting Foreign-Invested Products opens in Dongguan The first exhibition promoting products manufactured by foreign-invested companies set-up in China commenced today in Houjie, Dongguan and will last until Saturday(June 20th).

The fair aims at relieving businesses of the pressure they are facing with the financial crisis by helping them tap into the domestic market and achieve industrial up-grade. Over 1000 exhibitors and 5000 purchasers are attending the expo, an event showcasing nearly 10,000 commodities of which 1/3 are making their debut on the domestic market. The Secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee, Mr. Wang Yang was visiting the expo this morning to show his support to the exhibitors. When introducing products onto the domestic market, companies will encounter a series of issues, such as intellectual property rights protection and currency settlement. He said, "The exhibition is the first of its kind, and if it is well received, I believe there will be more sessions to come. I am confident that the issues can be solved gradually."
New Address for Sino-Kuwait Refinery Project to be finalized from one of the Four Cities The location of the Sino-Kuwait petrochemical joint venture, originally planned in Nansha district in Guangzhou, is to be moved to a less developed city. Mr. Nameer, the Consul General of Kuwait in Guangzhou said during his visit to western Guangdong, that the new location hasn't yet been decided but should be in either Taishan, Maoming, Zhanjiang or Huizhou.
