GZ's Environment Quality Good, but Acid Rain Still a Problem The latest data released by the Guangzhou environmental protection bureau indicates that the city's overall environment is rather good, with improvements in the quality of the air and drinking water. However, acid rain remains a serious issue. Our reporter Wang Jianping has the details: Yang Liu, the Deputy Director General of the environmental protection bureau pointed out the areas that seriously need to be improved: "Acid rains is still our key concern. What's more, not all drinking water sources meet the standards."

GZ Railway to be More Lingnan Style Guangzhou's main railway station is to undergo a major facelift ahead of the 2010 Asian Games. Renovation work will start by the end of the month, and the project will give the station more Lingnan style features.

GD and Hunan Develop Closer Tie in Cooperation A Trade delegation from Guangdong led by Wang Yang, the Secretary of Guangdong's CPC Committee began its visit to Changsha yesterday (May 21st). This is the delegation's 6th stop on its national promotion tour. Guangdong is hoping to sign over 300 trade cooperation projects with Hunan, with a total investment of over 52 billion yuan.
