China Updates Spending Details of Stimulus Fund China's economic planning body released a breakdown yesterday of how the government's 4 trillion yuan (586 billion U.S. dollars) stimulus funding was spent. The money was invested into seven main areas, including the construction of low-income houses and infrastructure projects in rural areas. Fire kills 13 in Underwear and Earphone plant in Guangdong 13 people died and four others were seriously injured when a fire engulfed a private workshop in Shantou yesterday. A spokesman from the fire department said the ground floor of the five-storey factory caught fire at about 7 a.m. and that it took 3 hours to put the fire out. Investigations into the cause of the fire are still underway.
