86 People in Close Contact with Guangdong A/H1N1 Patient Found

Last night (May 20th) the Guangdong Provincial Health Department confirmed that only 1 case of A/H1N1 had been reported in Guangdong and that of the 93 people who were in close contact with the patient, 87 people had been tracked down and weren't showing any symptoms. At the moment, the patient state is improving although he still tests positive to the influenza.

Two Ships Collide at Pearl River Port
At around 4 pm yesterday (May 20th), two cargo ships collided in the Pearl River port. One ship submerged and the other one grounded. 12 crew members were quickly rescued but this morning 1 person was still unaccounted for. The maritime affairs departments announced they have set-up measure to recover the missing body.

 

Guangzhou to Exert Greater Effort to Check Illegal Activities of Foreign Inhabitants
Guangzhou's Public Security Bureau revealed yesterday that every year thousands of foreigners enter and not always in the most legal ways. There are currently around 20,000 foreigners living in the city, unfortunately, according to the bureau, some of them work illegally and others even commit crimes such as smuggling drugs and robbery. The security bureau has started a campaign to check such activities, so much sure you all have your passports on you at all times.
