First Mainland A/H1N1 Patient Recovers
Yesterday afternoon (May 17th), the first Mainland A/H1N1 patient was discharged from hospital after having fully recovered from the virus. However, yesterday a 3rd confirmed case of the flu was reported in Beijing on a female student returning from New York. The same day in Hong Kong, a 23-year-old student from Guangdong who'd just returned home from New York was put in quarantine immediately after triggering the alarm during a thermal screening test.

China's First G3 Store in GZ Opens
Yesterday (May 17th) was the World Telecommunications Day with China Mobile and Gome joining hands to open China's first G3 store in Guangzhou. Citizens can now register for 3G services, buy 3G terminal products and try out the services at the store.

Long-awaited Rain Falls on GD
Yesterday (May 17th) the long-awaited rain finally fell on Guangdong and is expected to persist until Wednesday, especially in central and northern areas of the province, along with lightning and hail. Today Guangzhou remains overcast and rainy with temperatures ranging between 24 and 30 degrees.
