3-Day Holiday for Dragon Boat Festival
Dragon Boat festival is just around the corner brining good news to everyone. Indeed, this celebration, also called DuanWu festival is the opportunity for another bank-holiday weekend from May the 28th to May the 30th. DuanWu Festival is celebrated on the 5th day of 5th Chinese lunar month and it will fall this year on a Thursday. To make sure everyone gets 3 consecutive days, the government has arranged for all workers to have the Thursday-Friday and Saturday off, whilst returning to work on the Sunday.

Housing Expo to Open Tomorrow
The Guangzhou Housing Expo, an exhibition for real estate companies to promote their products, will kick off at the Jinhan Exhibition Centre tomorrow (May 15). Around 60 property projects will be on display with some of them even said to be offering interesting discounts. In addition, the government's housing authority will set up a booth to offer consultations about low-rent and affordable houses built for low-income families.

 International Spring Ball features "east meets west"
The American Chamber of Commerce in South China will once again organize its annual International Spring Ball! The gala is a popular social gathering for foreigners in Guangzhou, with CEOs, Consul Generals and local government officials attending. Harley Seyedin, the president of the association revealed the theme of this year's party:
" This year's theme is "east meets west". We are going to combine themes from all over the western world with the thousand years of Chinese history. Something like a fusion. It's going to be spectacular." 
The party will be held on May 23 at the China Hotel.
