105th Canton Fair Closes Today The 105th Canton Fair ended this evening after a 3-phase exhibition which lasted for 4 weeks. Amidst the global crisis, the transaction volume dropped by about 17% compared to last session. Machinery remains to be the leading export product, accounting for nearly 43% of the total trade volume. Most commodities have recorded decreases in trade, whilst food products and shoes have seen a slight increase. Furthermore, boosted by a strong market demand, medical and paramedical products surprised everyone by jumping nearly 35%. In spite of the decrease in trade, Europe, the Middle East and the United States ranked top 3 in terms of transaction volume. New markets such as Argentina, India and ASEAN countries have also shown a significant growth in the amount of transactions.
