Econd Plenary Session of the 11th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress Concluded
Yesterday (Feb 17th) afternoon, the second plenary session of the 11th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, the province's top legislature, closed after 5 days of discussions. The congress has approved several resolutions proposed in the provincial government's work report, amongst which the budget forecast for 2009. Representatives all expressed their satisfaction that the congress had been a significant success, and said that this session had outlined a blueprint for Guangdong's development this year.

Meeting Held in Guangzhou to Boost Cooperation with ASEAN
The Guangdong Government and the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department of Guangdong co-held a meeting in Guangzhou yesterday (Feb 17th), to boost communication and cooperation between Guangdong and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). Singapore, representing 73% of all ASEAN investments in Guangdong, is one of Guangdong's most important partners.

Venus to be Visible in Various Parts of China Tomorrow
In various parts of China, planet Venus is expected to be visible tomorrow evening (Feb 19th) just before sunset. The Guangdong Astronomical Society forecasts that the apparent magnitude of Venus will reach -4.8 and that if the weather stays fine, Venus will also be visible during daytime. Venus is the closet planet to earth and the brightest natural object in the sky after the Moon.
