Chinese President Hu Jintao Holds Talks with Tanzanian President Yesterday (Feb 15th), in the Tanzanian capital a meeting was held between the Chinese President Hu Jintao and the Tanzanian president Kikwete. During the meeting, President Hu made three proposals: first, to strengthen the two nation's political cooperation; second, to implement the cooperation projects signed during the China-Africa Cooperation Forum; and third, to set-up more youth exchange programs between the two nations. Hu also indicated that China will offer more governmental scholarships to Tanzanian students for them to visit China this year.

10th CPPCC Closed Yesterday The 10th Guangdong CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) closed yesterday (Feb 15th). President of the committee, Chen Shaoji, believed that the conference had been a great success with 55 proposals accepted for further study and implementation. Chen also said that the committee members had contributed many great ideas as to the implementation of the PRD Reform and Development Scheme, that it is essential in ensuring a stable rather than fast development to Guangdong's economy.
Representatives of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress urge on speeding up PRD's unification During the second plenary session of the 11th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress yesterday (Feb 15th), representatives urged on speeding up the unification of the PRD. Representative Tan Yanhong said that public facilities such as transportation, schools, hospitals and means of communication should be unified so as to avoid overlapping or repeated construction, and therefore saves money both of the local governments and of the inhabitants. Another representative Huang Jiawu said that the PRD's unification would lower transportation costs and increase efficiency for enterprises, therefore making them more competitive.
