Guangdong Government to Push forward The Adaptation of IT to Traditional Industries

Yesterday (Feb 11th), a meeting concerning the development of Guangdong's IT industry was held. It was revealed that last year, Guangdong's IT companies had seen a substantial increase in both their industrial added-value and their revenue from sales of home-developed software. This year, Guangdong will push traditional industries to adapt to the use of IT for improving their production and helping to develop modern information services for their clients.

Guangdong's Farmer Average Income Growth Rate Surpasses That of Urban Residents in 2008

A meeting concerning Guangdong's agricultural development revealed that last year, farmer's average income reached 6400 Yuan, up by 13.8% compared to last year, and that for the first time, the growth rate was higher than that of urban residents. Furthermore, Guangdong's total agricultural output amounted to 320 billion Yuan this year, an increase of 3.7% compared to last year.
