Development Schemes for Guangdong Rural Areas Issued
Guangdong Government issued Yesterday (Feb 3rd) a document in which several plans for rural development are laid out. According to the document, agriculture should see important technological developments; rural inhabitants' annual revenue is expected to reach 9000 Yuan per capita by 2012, and pension schemes will be set up. By the year 2020, the annual revenue per capita for rural inhabitants is expected to reach 18,000 Yuan.

Personal Handyphone System to Be Completely Withdrawn from Market in 3 Years
China mobile has announced that it will completely withdraw from operation, the Personal Handyphone System (PHS) which entered China's urban mobile market in 1998. The current 70 million PHS users have until the end of 2011 to fall back on other alternatives.

Temperatures in Guangdong to Continue to Rise
Temperatures in Guangdong will continue to rise over the next three days, but blue skies aren't to be expected. Visibility will be low in most of the province and drizzles and fog will even appear in the north. Today, Guangzhou remains mainly cloudy and temperatures range between 14 to 25 degrees.
