Guangzhou Police Checks Illegal Passenger Transportation The travel rush has started again after the Chinese New Year holiday and illegal passenger transporting has been spotted around the two railway stations and major coach terminals. Guangzhou Police have therefore positioned undercover police to check such activities. After arresting eight suspects at the Tianhe Coach Terminal yesterday (Feb 1st), an official from the police station said: Some of these frauds have pretended to be the official employees of the Tianhe Coach Terminal and they even have speakers on them. This was intended to trick passengers into following them so they can lead them onto the illegal buses. Guangzhou Police suggest that passengers should only purchase their tickets at official ticket booths inside the stations or at other formal ticket-selling agencies but not board any random buses by the roadside.
