Guangdong Small-sized Industrial Enterprises Profit more than, Large, Middle -Sized Ones
Amidst the current financial crisis, Guangdong's small-sized industrial enterprises are profiting more than large or middle-sized ones. According to the Guangdong Statistics Bureau, among the 37107 small-sized enterprises whose statistics were compiled, profits totaled to 80.9 billion Yuan from January to November 2008, up 13.7% from the previous year. On the other hand, Guangdong's large and middle-sized industrial enterprises both experienced 24 % decrease in profits compared to the previous year.

Guangzhou Metro to Start Transporting Spring Festival Rush Travelers from Pazhou Tomorrow Evening
The Pazhou convention and exhibition center will open tomorrow evening for travelers awaiting their departure. The Pazhou metro station will be offering free tickets for Spring Festival travelers commuting between the exhibition center, used this year as a huge waiting room, and the Guangzhou railway station. This from tomorrow until the 23rd of this month.

Guangzhou Expects at least a 10% GDP Growth in 2009
At the 6th plenary session of the 9th Guangzhou CPC committee yesterday (Jan 12), Guangzhou's GDP estimation for 2008 was announced. Guangzhou is expected to have reached a GDP of over 820 billion Yuan last year, up by over 12% from 2007. Furthermore, Guangzhou's urban and rural citizen's personal disposable income is expected to have reached 25317 and 9828 Yuan, up respectively 12.7 and 14.1%. This year, the main goal for Guangzhou's economic and social development is to maintain a 2-digit increase, that is, at least a 10% increase in its GDP and approximately the same total value in export compared to last year.
