More Measures to be Launched to Boost the Economy Soon
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao ended his 3-day inspection tour of Jiangsu Province yesterday. Whilst visiting export orientated factories, premier Wen said that: "Our aim is to be the first to recover from the financial crisis. We must have faith and determination." He also announced the government would put forward a series of new measures before the annual session of the National People's Congress that begins on March the 5th.

Five Major Traffic Accidents Take Place on First Day of Spring Festival Travel Rush
The Spring Festival travel rush began yesterday (Jan 11) with its share of sorrow. Across Guangdong five major traffic accidents took place causing three casualties and injuring two others. The rescue workers were put to the test when a vehicle caught fire on the Jingzhu expressway, taking the firefighters 80 minutes to reach.

Disney to Submit Shanghai Park Plans to Beijing
Walt Disney Co.  is said to have worked on a joint report and signed a framework agreement with Shanghai's city administration last Friday (Jan 9). Over the weekend, Disney announced that they will submit the joint report to Beijing for review. Disney's Shanghai Project is expected open by 2014 for a total cost of 24.48 billion Yuan.

Spring Festival Travel Expenses Towards Destinations Outside Guangdong Drop
Travel expenses over the Spring Festival holidays have dropped this year by around 30%. Sells of tour packages towards destinations outside Guangdong is in full swing now, with still 2 weeks to go untill the Spring Festival begins.

Police Reporting SMS Number 12110 to be Unified Nationwide
The Ministry of Public Security announced yesterday(Jan 11th) its new nationwide number for those reporting incidents by SMS. Instead of 110, citizens thoughout China will be able to send SMS' to "12110". This service has already been implemented in various cities such as Shanghai, Tianjin and and other cities in Zhejiang province. This service is now been set-up, to gradually cover all of China.
