Nation Might be First to 'Recover' from Crisis Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao ended his 3-day inspection tour of Jiangsu Province yesterday, during which he restated his confidence in the government measures set-up to boost domestic demand. Whilst visiting export orientated factories in Jiangsu, premier Wen said that: "Our aim is to be the first to recover from the financial crisis. We must have faith and determination." He also announced the government would put forward a series of new measures before the annual session of the National People's Congress that begins on March the 5th.

Guangdong Sees over 600 Thousand Passengers on First Day of Spring Festival Rush With the beginning yesterday (Jan 11) of the Spring Festival travel rush, Guangdong saw over 600.000 people hit the road, on their annual journey home. Guangzhou railway station was under the spot light yesterday, but rail authorities were well prepared and everything went rather smoothly given the circumstances. Our reporter Chen Mingjie has the details: One of the passengers Mr. Luo told us:"The passenger flow was messy and hectic during the past two years, and thieves were everywhere, but this year every thing is in order and rather safe." Cold Weather to Continue over the Next few Days in Guangdong Temperatures dropped to record low levels yesterday (Jan 11th) across Guangdong. Frost was seen in most of the northern parts of the province with temperatures dropping to under 0 degree. Temperatures are expected to stay low over the next two days with more frost in the north, whilst In Guangzhou, the weather should remain mild with 4 to 6 degrees expected and sun throughout the day.
