Small Loan Companies to Start Trail Operation
A governmental conference presided over by Guangdong Governor Huang Huhua yesterday (November 25) approved to test run small loaning companies. The conference stressed that the loans from these companies should be aimed at the agriculture sector and small companies, and that a monitoring system should be strengthen to guarantee that the small loaning companies operate according to laws.
Citizens to Benefit from Key Projects
Guangzhou citizens will be able to benefit from a series of policies to help small and medium-size companies face the increasingly chilly economic winter. Our journalist Yu Sulin has the story:
The government has drafted fiscal measures to support small and medium-size enterprises. In addition, a package of projects closely-related to people's lives will be launched. Vice director of Guangzhou Development and Reform Commission Chen Haodian introduced the details:
"13.3 billion Yuan will be spent on building affordable housing in 2009 and 2010. 10 billion Yuan will be allocated to education, culture and health care. In addition, funds will be used for water pollution treatment and drinking water projects."
Guangdong to Freeze Tonight
A new cold front will soon hit Guangdong. According to the Guangdong Metrological Observatory forecast, gradual drops in temperature will take place tonight (Nov 26th), and minimum temperatures of 5 degrees are expected in most of Northern Guangdong. Guangzhou is to experience a minimum of 14 degree tomorrow.
Bangkok Airport Reopens; Guangzhou Tours Not Affected
Bangkok International Airport reopened at noon today (November 26) after being disrupted last night as hundreds of anti-government protesters stormed the terminal building. A flight from Guangzhou to Bangkok was delayed for one hours and a half this morning. According to a local travel agency, Nanhu Travel, the political turmoil has not yet affected Guangzhou tour groups heading to Thailand.
