Another Stimulus Proposal Being Made

A proposal meant to increase residents' income and fully stimulate domestic consumption is being drafted by the National Development and Reform Commission. The proposal is expected to be another incentive after the 4-trillion Yuan stimulus package aiming to boost the economy launched earlier this month.

Guangzhou Metro Line Five Vehicles Makes Debut

The first two metros to operate on Guangzhou's new line 5 arrived in Guangzhou yesterday (Nov 23rd). From the original four-carriage design, they have been assembled and extended to 6 carriages and the first test operations were carried out. These vehicles are of a new design, featuring amongst other things, an air conditioning system that will automatically analyze and alter the temperature inside the trains according to the needs.

Guangzhou Residents to Enjoy Better Drinking Water

Guangzhou citizens are expected to enjoy better quality drinking water, as the Guangdong Environmental Protection Bureau has recently approved a plan to use water from the Xijiang river by 2010.
