Policies to Boost GD Tourism
Guangdong will take strong nationwide initiatives to encourage citizens to travel more, in an aim to boost the tourism industry. Detailed policies will soon be announced, including promoting a paid leave system for employees and study tours for students. In addition, the policies will advocate companies to reward employees with travel opportunities.
Stimula Package to Boost Dongguan industries
A 1 billion stimulus package enacted by the Dongguan government was implemented today (November 20), in efforts to support the city's key small and medium-size enterprises. A total of 3184 companies have become the first group of beneficiaries of the stimulus package. The financing scheme provides direct loans, credit guarantees and discount interest loans to eligible companies.
Retirees Get More Pension
The central government has decided to raise pensions for retirees beginning January 1st, 2009. This is the 5th raise since 2005. The average growth rate is around 10% based on the 2008 level . The average increase for each Guangdong retiree is estimated to be above 100 Yuan per month.
Motorbike to be banned in Dongguan Dongguan government announced yesterday (Nov, 19th) that from January 1st, 2009, motorbikes will be banned inside downtown areas within the city's ring road. To meet citizens' travel needs, the government plans to put 200 mini buses into operation on 27 routes, running through the 4 major districts and neighboring towns.
