Hello and welcome to countdown to the GZ Asian Games. I am David. There are 66 days to go before the games begin.

2nd test run of the odd-even license number restrictions to be organized
The 2nd test run of the vehicle limitations measures including the odd or even license plate restrictions will be held between this Saturday and next Tuesday in Guangzhou. Violators will be fined 200 yuan and 3 points will be deducted from their driving license. Different from the first drill, the test period will be shortened by3 hours, starting at 8am, and ending at 8pm.. Previously, officials had announced that other cities in the PRD would join in this test. However, at yesterday¡¯s press conference, the spokesman said other PRD cities would decide, by themselves, whether to participate in the test or not.

26 pure electric buses to hit the road
26 entirely electric buses will be put into operation before the opening of the Guangzhou Asian Games. These new energy buses will be running between Sun Yatsen Memorial Hall and the Higher Education Mega Center. A power supply station is now being constructed at the bus depot on the university island.

Guangzhou to host international music festival in November
Guangzhou will host the 2010 Asia International Music Festival from November 5 to 17, which shall feature 10 concerts joined by renowned musicians such as Seiji Ozawa and Yo-Yo Ma. Seiji Ozawa, one of the world's greatest classical musicians, has recently recovered from cancer but has confirmed he shall attend the festival. In addition, during the Asian Games, all exhibitions will be opened to the public free of charge, except the Museum of the Nanyue King Mausoleum, the Guangzhou Museum, and the Guangdong Museum of Folk Arts.
