Over 920 thousand people applies to be voluntters for GZ Asian Games
The recruitment of volunteers for the Guangzhou Asian Games and Para Games
Games concluded at midnight on August 1st. GAGOC announced they have received more than 920,000 applications online and at street application booths. Amongst all the applicants, the youngest is a 6 year old boy from Guangzhou and the oldest, an 80 year old couple.
New Vehicle restrictions protect air quality
In order to ensure good air quality during the Asian Games, Guangzhou will adopt a series of measures to limit the number of vehicles running on the roads from Oct 12 to Dec 22. During that period, cars without an environmentally-friendly label on them as well as those that run on heavily polluting gas will be banned from the roads. Together with the even-odd number vehicle limitation that will be in place, the municipal environmental protection bureau predicts that 745,000 fewer vehicles will be running in Guangzhou.
The Olympic Council of China visites GAGOC
The Olympic Council of China recently sent a delegation to visit GAGOC. During their visit, they looked over the list of Chinese athletes that will be participating in the Asian Games and visited the athletes' village inside the Asian Games Town and expressed their confidence in the success of the Games to come.
