Two-Day Training for the First Group of Volunteers A first group of 130 Guangzhou Asian Games volunteers yesterday (Oct 17th) completed their two-day trainings. They will later apply what they've learnt by working for the 18th Asian Athletics Championship, scheduled from the 10th to the 14th of November. Next year's Asian Games will needs a total of 60,000 volunteers so a recruitment campaign was launched in April, and so far, citizens are showing a strong interest to participate in the event.
GZ Mayor Zhang Guangning Inspired by 11th National Games to Better Prepare for the GZ Asian Games To better prepare for next year's Asian Games, a delegation led by Guangzhou Mayor, Zhang Guangning, is in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province. On the last day of his visit to the 11th National Games, Zhang said that compared with previous sessions, this year's national games have escalated to a higher level. He said his visit to Jinan would "inspire (him) for the preparation for Guangzhou Asian Games."

Internships at Asian Games Open to University Students Also yesterday, internship positions during the Asian Games and for students from Guangzhou's key universities were published. These positions include broadcasting, music, live performances and lighting. Over 700 positions will be offered to university students majoring in relevant disciplines.
